About Me

There's not really much to tell about me.  I'm very much a 'WYSIWYG' (what you see is what you get) girl.

I have good points and bad points, just like everyone and I don't believe in hiding any of them-- not that I could even if I wanted to.  My heart is always proudly displayed on my sleeve and I'm afflicted with that most annoying habit of never knowing when to shut-the-heck-up.

Impatience if by far my worst trait--not good for a writer who's often waiting to hear back from the slush pile.  I can be rather hot-headed at times, but I'm also a diplomat, from the 'kill em with kindness' school of thought. Moderating on the Writer's Beat forums has helped me develop this significantly.

I'm always passionate about the things that matter to me, with somewhat of an addictive personality.  When it comes to friends, there's nothing I won't do for them, if it's within my power.  I hate confrontation and will go to any length to resolve disputes and maintain relationships, often walking away if that's what it takes.

My flirtatious streak is a mile wide and I just can't help myself when it comes to innuendo.  Toilet humour is also a big favourite of mine (sorry, but it is).  And there's a red devil on my shoulder when it comes to what makes me laugh and the odd little quips that almost escape my firmly pressed together lips.  But make no mistake, beneath all the glitter and the candour I'm a family orientated mum.  I'm happily married, living with my wonderfully patient husband and our two little monkeys (not really monkeys, you know I meant children, right?)

Writing is my passion; it's what I do for myself and, should I ever get the big publishing contract that all writer's dream of, it'll be because of my my incredibly supportive family and friends .  Whether creative or factual, writing is what I love and I'm lucky that my paying job gives me the scope to write as well

Like everyone, I have high hopes for the future and where my writing may take me.  But even if I never hit the big time, happiness is just a new page away.
