Six years ago today my mother passed away. In that time much has happened in my life, so many things that ordinarily I would have turned to her for guidance and support with. She never even got to meet her second grandchild, my son.
Mum knew I loved creative writing, but she'll never see the things I've accomplished. She never saw me published or got to read anything more than a school assignment.
Six years have come and gone in a blur, and I shall always miss the wonderful woman who was my mother. Today is not a sad day for me, but a reminder of how fast life can move and that each day should be lived to the full. My mum lived an extraordinary life and never really conformed to what was considered 'the norm' yet she still managed to have a positive affect on all those around her.
I am so proud to be my mother's daughter.
